Telephone Systems Repair

Business telephone systems are all built in a way that trouble shooting for repair issue will use the same basic techniques with the exception being the software of the telephone system. In general if a telephone line isn’t working the problem will almost always result from a problem with a telephone cable before it enters the system and often the repair will need to take place somewhere in the cable that belongs to the phone company. At times telephone line issues will result in a repair or replacement of telephone systems hardware, usually a trunk card or with very small systems maybe the entire telephone system control unit. With electronic or digital these two areas being the only places this type of repair trouble could happen as electronic and digital telephone systems do not extend the actual telephone line to the desk telephone set. The telephone cable extending between the telephone system control cabinet and the telephone set allows only communication between the telephone and the telephone system. (in short . The actual telephone line is connected to the telephone system control cabinet and extension dial tone extends out to the phone set located at the desk or other work area) the telephone system control hardware connects the extension and the telephone line at the control cabinet. Inside telephone wiring can only case a problem with a telephone line in an area between the telephone companies Minimum Point of Entry (MPOE) and where the telephone line connect to the telephone system. The telephone company or dialtone service provider usually will not provide telephone repair service to inside telephone cable without a charge.

Repair of telephone systems extensions

Telephone extensions may cease to work due to repair issues in three areas, the telephone terminal, the telephone cable, and telephone system hardware. You will never have a telephone repair issue originated by the telephone company line when a telephone set does not work provided the telephone set is a phone connected to a phone system. To be clear, a dead telephone set and dead telephone lines are two different things. With telephone systems connected to T-1/PRI telephone lines along with telephone lines delivered over DSL the circuit and even the Routers or channel banks, can incur repair problems causing the loss of some or all lines. In these cases the telephone system extensions will still work, Intercom calls and Lights on line buttons will still be normal without access to placing or receiving calls from the outside.

A single telephone extension not working will generally mean the telephone set or the phone wire between the telephone and the telephone system is broken or shorted. Exchange the phone set, including both cords handset, and wall cords, and any other attached components with a known working telephone of the same type and model. If the exchanged telephone works you have eliminated the telephone cable as the cause of of the repair problem. Connect the old or non working telephone back to the phone jack, and exchange the individual components of the non working telephone with those parts from the phone you know to work. As you clear the individual components if the repair problem is caused by a handset, handset cord, or line cord you will be able to determine what should be replaced. If the repair problem exist in the base of the phone the purchase of a new or refurbished phone will be less expensive than the cost of most telephone systems repair services. On 9/27/2010 downtown Los Angeles reached it’s highest temperature ever at 113 Fahrenheit. Los Angeles recorded it’s coldest temperature in 1944 on October 22,  at 24 degrees f. The City of Los Angeles is divided into eighty districts and neighborhoods. Los Angeles is the 2nd largest TV market in the nation and has 7 VHF broadcast allocations. The Los Angeles area has two professional sports teams in every major league sport except football, how sad. But life in Los Angeles still beat NYC.
