Orange County California
Orange County the third largest county in California when ranked on the basis of a population with 3,010,232 residents. Know for its attractions to tourist with several world famous amusement parks including the original Disneyland theme park. Orange County California is made up of 34 incorporated cities and several well recognized unincorporated communities. In land size Orange County is the smallest county in Southern Calif, with a total land area of 789.40 square miles with an additional 158.57 square miles of inland water.
Of course being located along the Pacific Ocean Orange County does have beaches, slightly over forty miles of world famous coastline. Although Orange County has no dominate city such as nearby Los Angeles and San Diego counties, the cities of Anaheim, Irvine and Santa Ana provide the county with centers of entertainment, finance and government.
The County Seat of Orange County is Santa Ana, Anaheim is arguably the entertainment center with both major league baseball (Angeles) and an National Hockey League franchise belonging to the city. Although cities such as Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and other Orange County cities can rightfully boast of their own brand of great entertainment. Irvine possibly would be the Orange County city best known for Business and being the financial hub of Orange County.
Orange County is considered to be politically conservative, and is known as being one of the most affluent counties in the nation. The newest city of Orange County is Aliso Viejo, incorporated in 2001. In 1870 Anaheim was first city to be incorporated as a city of Orange County California.
