Lucent Partner Telephone Systems Repair

Partner telephone systems dates back to the last years of AT&T being a manufacturer of phones and telephone system equipment. Originally manufactured by Western Electric the manufacturing arm of the bell system in the late 1980’s. When AT&T spun off Lucent Technologies in 1996 the Partner line of business telephone systems had been on the market for several years. Western Electric became a company owned by Lucent as did the entire division of telephone systems products which had been under the AT&T Brand including Bell Labs and the assets of AT&T Technologies which had provided installation and Repair service technicians and other staff that performed installation and Repair for AT&T Telephone systems products. Lucent continued in this capacity until October 2000.

In October 2000, Lucent spun off the division of Lucent which had assumed the manufacturer and the Installation and Repair as well as sales of business telephone systems into Avaya Inc.

During this entire period of time the Partner line of telephone systems products was continued until 2010 when the Avaya Partner ACS 509 telephone system was discontinued and incorporated into the Avaya IP Office telephone system. Partner telephone sets are incorporated into the Avaya IP Office by installation of an IP Office expansion module designed for Partner telephones. Many of the same telephone systems features long associated with the Avaya Partner ACS telephone systems are still available with this Partner edition of Avaya IP Office.

The same telephones used with Avaya Partner ACS telephone systems work with older Lucent Phone Systems as will  the telephone purchased with a Lucent Partner telephone system will work with the Avaya Partner ACS telephone systems.

In production for over twenty years the Partner telephone systems line of products lasted longer on the market than any other business telephone system. From the original AT&T Partner and Partner II telephone systems to Partner Plus telephone systems manufactured by AT&T to the Partner ACS 308 first released by Lucent and continued by Avaya to the Avaya Partner ACS 509.
